Skullphone, Volcom's Calling by Andrew Asch

Volcom x Skullphone

Across the underbellies of cities like Los Angeles, especially in hipster districts, the mysterious and menacing street art of Skullphone has been stenciled and pasted up on walls for more than a decade. Eventually someone was going to put it on a T-shirt.

Active sports brand Volcom introduced a capsule collection of Skullphone clothes at Agenda on Jan. 4. Think T-shirts, wovens, skinny jeans and even socks, all bearing a myriad of interpretations of the surreal and satirical skull chatting on a cell phone. May a million Skullphones blossom!

Rusty's New Logo by Andrew Asch

Rusty's newly minted logo.

It’s a new year and legendary surf brand Rusty unveiled a new logo at the Agenda trade show, which took place on Jan. 4 – 5 in Long Beach.

Instead of the recent logo which depicted the brand’s full-name Rusty, what will be placed on the brand's hang tags, labels and ads will be the to-the-point “R.,” which happened to be one of the brand’s logos from the wild 1980s.

“R. is iconic,” said Rusty President Charlie Setzler. “It is retro and it is the heritage of the brand.”
